Pricing

One rate. A firm price before we start.

Consulting is billed by the hour. Projects get a fixed price once we've seen your files, so you know the cost before any work starts. No running meter.

Projects

A firm price, once we've seen your files.

Two buildings with the same number of floors can be very different jobs, so we don't publish a price per floor. We price your job, not an average one.

  1. Send one floor plan for a ballpark. CAD, PDF, a scan or a photo of a paper plan. We'll send a free ballpark, usually within a day.
  2. Tell us where it needs to live. Your own GIS, our portal, or, if you have neither, web maps or documents you can print.
  3. Share the rest securely. We sign a non-disclosure agreement first, then you upload to our private area, or we use your own file-sharing system if you prefer.
  4. Get a firm price in writing, before any work starts.

What moves the price

  • How big the building is, and how many rooms it has
  • How true to scale your plans are
  • How much goes on the map: rooms only, or shut-offs, panels and contacts too
  • Whether we need to measure on site

Not just drawings. Every floor comes back placed on the map, with rooms numbered and measured and the things people need to find, ready to use in your GIS, our portal or a simple web map.

Larger portfolios are quoted with a schedule that fits, so you know when each building will be done. We're a small practice, and we'll tell you honestly how long it will take.

Ongoing: hosting and the property portalmonthly

Hosting. We can host your map for a monthly fee. Your data stays yours, and you can have a full copy any time.

Property portal. Our property portal puts each of your buildings on a map: who to call, where the shut-offs and panels are, what's overdue and what each building earns, kept current by your own team. See the property portal →

It's priced per building, per month, depending on the size and type of each building. Tell us how many buildings you manage and we'll send a quote. In many commercial leases the cost can be passed through as an operating expense.

Questionsconfidentiality, payment, travel…
Why no price per floor?
Because floors aren't alike. Three stories at 28,000 square feet and three stories at 82,000 are very different jobs. A per-floor price would be wrong for most buildings, so we look at yours and give you a firm price instead.
Is the ballpark really free?
Yes. Send one floor plan and a line about what you need. The ballpark is a range, not a commitment on either side; the firm price comes after we've seen your files.
What makes a job cost more?
Large or very detailed floors, plans that disagree with each other, rush deadlines, and on-site work. We'll tell you up front if any of these apply.
What do I get at the end?
Your data in standard GIS formats you own, plus a PDF of each floor. If you use the portal, your buildings are already loaded. Every project includes one round of corrections.
Do you make CAD drawings?
No. We're GIS specialists, not CAD drafters. We turn your CAD, PDFs and paper plans into GIS, and we'll help you sort out the drawing problems we find along the way, like rooms that don't close or room numbers that don't match. If you need new CAD drawings made, we'll point you to a drafting firm.
Is my project kept confidential?
Yes. We work under a non-disclosure agreement, signed before you share any files. We don't discuss your project, name you as a client, or show your buildings to anyone outside your organization without your written permission.
How does payment work?
Hourly consulting and small jobs are invoiced on delivery. Larger projects start with a deposit, set by the scope of work, with the balance on delivery. The terms are written into every quote.
Do you travel?
Most work is done remotely from the plans you send. On-site measurement is quoted separately, including travel.
